n the fourth quarter of 2009, the Ken Boyd for Congress campaign raised over $37,000 from a wide base of over 100 donors from across the 5^th District. This makes Ken Boyd’s funds raised to date of almost $50,000 since the announced his campaign.

“We were very encouraged by our fundraising efforts and district wide support.” said Boyd.  “After first helping secure historic victories for Virginia’s GOP candidates, we are now emboldened by our progress in bringing the 5th District Congressional seat back to the people of Virginia.”

Boyd has conducted spirited events in all 18 counties in the 5^th District and is building a deep rooted network that stretches from Stanardsville to Martinsville to Lawrenceville.  This grassroots organization continues to grow and has help deliver Ken’s message of lower taxes, spending cuts and creating jobs through the elimination of needless, job killing regulations.

“When I began this campaign for the people of the 5th District, I knew that my support must come from the people of the 5th District.” Boyd said. “The surest way to be in Washington’s debt is to let the lobbyist and insiders write all the checks.” Boyd went on to emphasis, “When I am battling Tom Perriello in the fall, the only people I will be answering to are the people of the 5th district.”

Boyd closed with “I have no doubt that we will have all the money we need to deliver our message and win the June 8^th Primary Election, as well as defeat Congressman Perriello in November”.
